Who is YTT for?

Reasons to join the YTT Program:

  • If you are interested in developing your personal practice

  • If you are going through a transition in your life

  • If you are curious about what else yoga has to offer, beyond the poses

  • If you are searching for your next step

  • If you want to take control of your mental & physical health

  • If you want to learn to be a better human being, friend, parent and family member

  • If you want to create friendships and build community

Whether you want to teach or are looking to enhance your personal practice (and life!), this training is a new beginning of your journey. It’s so much more than asana and meditation. Yoga is more than 5,000 years old! The yoga philosophy and Patanjali’s 8 Limb Path offers you a foundation to live your life. During this training you will be encouraged to embrace yoga, in all of its forms.

In this space, you’ll let go of limiting beliefs, build a community of support, and find your voice as we take a deep-dive into the idea of yoga as a lifestyle and acquire the necessary tools to cultivate a sustainable, life-long practice.

About this Training

Applicants to this training must have a consistent and dedicated yoga practice. The program is designed for committed students looking to enrich their understanding of yoga asana, philosophy & lifestyle. Prepare to immerse yourself in the practice, both in the studio walls and beyond.

FAQS

  • Yes! You can miss up to one full weekend of teacher training and still graduate through assigned make-up work.

“One Full Weekend” qualifies as a single weekend of consecutive days or 3 days spread out over the course of the training.

If you have to miss more than the allotted amount of time, you can still graduate through make-up work and classes however, this will come at an additional cost.

  • You will have a physical practice at each YTT session, so it’s important to have a consistent practice however, there is no “right’ amount of time to be practicing before YTT.

If you are dedicated to your asana practice, have a thirst for knowledge, and a willingness to learn more about yourself, you are ready for a teacher training!

  • We split our weekends between The Yoga Tree in downtown Haverhill and Light House Yoga in North Andover. This give you the opportunity to connect with two studio communities, a huge benefit to anyone looking to teach after graduation.

  • YES! Many of our grads attend simply to learn more about the philosophies of yoga or to refine their own personal practice. The intent to teach is not a requirement for a 200 Hour Training.

While you don’t need to teach following your graduation, you will be required to participate in practice teaching drills + (2) community classes over the course of the training. You’ll leave training with the skills required to speak clearly and confidently to a room of people, a helpful skillset in any career.

More often than not, our grads leave training wanting to teach, whether or not that was their intention at the time of enrollment. Be open to whatever your path holds!
