Advancing Your Pranayama & Meditation Practice

  • The Yoga Tree Studio 90 Washington Street Haverhill, MA, 01832 United States (map)

Pranayama and meditation are powerful yogic practices that offer deeper levels of awakening. These practices allow us to gain greater control over our energetic systems, and by harnessing this energy we can calm our busy minds and enter into Samadhi; deep awareness and integration.

The feeling of bliss we experience from our asana practice can be prolonged and understood on a deeper level when we integrate pranayama (breathwork) and meditation practices. This course will offer you a greater understanding of how these practices work, beyond the physical body. Your personal practice will be empowered with a understanding of your energic pathways, and how to ignite kundalini energy.

This offering is for anyone interested in the esoterics and energetics of yoga, or who is interested in learning meditative techniques.

You will learn:

  • The history and philosophy of pranayama and meditation practices

  • The effects of pranayama and meditation on the energetic body

  • How to safely and effectively practice pranayama and meditation

  • Introduction to mudras and bandhas (energetic locks)

  • Practice and description of various pranayama and meditation techniques
